Club News

November 25 2007

It has been a discouraging year for R/C in the Augusta area but things are looking a bit brighter lately. I figured that it was well past time for an update to this page.

We lost our Trenton club field this spring. The search for a new permanent location has been a difficult one but we are not giving up. We now have flying rights at the Grovetown golf range, and we will soon begin doing some trial flying at a new site east of Aiken. Our ultimate goal is to locate a flying site that is convenient to most of our club members that will accommodate our bigger airplanes and warbirds, and allow us to host IMAC contests and fly-in's once again.

Our funds are still secure and the membership roster will remain locked until we can find a permanent club field. Russell and Don have stepped down as TRCA club officers but remain very supportive members. In the interim Bill is the acting head of the club since he is the ranking officer. I am still watching after the website and others are doing their part to keep things going. We are also getting good support from the other surrounding R/C clubs since everyone in the area would like to see a new, big field established in the CSRA.

Everyone has been great through all of this.  Lets keep the positive outlook, keep searching, and make good use of the flying sites that we have found so far!
